This fabulous website contains blog-posts about the field research course that is created in collaboration between Makerere University Business School (MUBS) and Copenhagen Business School (CBS).

The MUBS-CBS collaboration has existed for 8 years and, throughout the years, students have gained great experiences both regarding field research, method design, academic writing, cultural learning, and teamwork, and they have created longlasting friendships.

For the CBS part, the project is part of the elective course Field study: Entrepreneurship and Private Sector Development in Uganda, which is eligible for students at the two concentrations at MSc. Business, Language & Culture; Business & Development Studies and Diversity & Change Management. For the MUBS part, the course is also an elective course, for which students at MBA, Project Management, Entrepreneurship concentrations are eligible.

The total number of students participating is 48 – 24 from MUBS and 24 from CBS. This has created 12 project groups, each with two MUBS students and two CBS students. Each project group is being assigned to a topic within which they are supposed to define their own research question.

Each of the 12 project groups is creating a post about their experiences from the field. The topics are Microfinance, Informal Sector, Female Entrepreneurship, Private Sector Development, Corporate Entrepreneurship, Ethnic/Migrant Entrepreneurship, Young Entrepreneurs, and Social- & Eco-Entrepreneurship.

The intent of this website is to share our experiences with whom it may interest.
